Leave It For Later!

Fu*k off, I'm doing it now.

Distractions are the bane of my existence.

  • Social media

  • Phone

  • Personal problems

  • To-Do list

I could go on forever… You know the drill.

So, what can I do about it?

Bear with me…

Recently, I started to meditate and take long walks. But, not because I want to or some monk told me to…

On the contrary, I HATE MEDITATING AND WALKING.

Why? Because they require my focus, and it's boring.

I noticed my mind is brainwashed into thinking I need to give my attention everywhere.

I’m totally addicted to my distractions.

You know what I mean… Notifications, emails, likes, shares, comments, DMs…

Dopamine.

All the while, in the back of my mind, there is a nagging feeling of despair, chaos, emptiness, loneliness…

Things were getting out of control…

But at the start of the year, I made changes.

Deeper ones than walking and meditating.

Like with drug addiction, I have to look inside.

  1. What personal problems am I avoiding?

  2. Do I sleep enough?

  3. Why does everything feel like a mess?

  4. Why can’t I get anything done?

The cleaning is an inside and an outside job.

My sleep was nonexistent… I cut out nicotine and no phone before bed.

My house was not cleaned consistently… Cleaning up your environment does wonders for productivity.

When was the last time I had a good time with friends?…I started to see my friends again.

I even started dating again… Feels weird but talking to people helps you get out of your head.

Results?

Sleeping like a baby now. I can control my focus. Productivity is no longer a chore, and getting from thinking to doing is easier now.

I’m also a former athlete, and getting back to my daily training routine is a game changer.

So you see, my friend…

You make the choice with your focus!

You can't control your thoughts, but you can control your attention.

The biggest hurdle in the morning is not listening to my own mind.

Resistance: ‘Kai, take it easy and leave it for later.’

Me: "Fuck off, I’m doing the thing now."

The only way for me to win.

Have you got the same problems? I would be happy to hear about it.

In other news…

I got back to Dickie and Coles Premium Ghostwriting Academy and am writing my own educational email course…

More on that later.

Have a nice Sunday.
